SlimKitty Friend: Molly Mew

Guest Post: Carma from Carma Poodale
Molly on rock
Molly Mew came to us by way of a rescue. My husband’s friends were moving from one county to our county (50 miles one way) and they thought they heard something cry while driving down the road. They stopped, looked under the hood and didn’t see anything so they continued driving. After they unpacked everything from the car they took off to get another load but they heard the noise again.

They stopped the car, looked around and didn’t see anything but when they took off again they heard the noise. Since they were near our neighborhood, they drove to our house to see if hubby could help them find out where the noise was coming from. He started looking around with a flashlight, when all of a sudden a paw appeared. Hubby had to take the plastic piece that covers the radiator off to put his hand up in there only to be bitten and scratched by this kitten. He removed the kitten that only had burned whiskers and brought it in the house. It was terrified, I was furious that the couple wouldn’t take the kitten and expected me to take it to the humane society.

This kitten won my heart but convincing my husband to let me keep another animal was a huge task. It took 5 months, but my daughter and I did it. Carma Poodale had a huge part in convincing him since she always wanted her own kitten. She played with it, cleaned it, slept with it and protected it. She needed this kitten. He finally agreed to keep the kitten and we couldn’t be happier.

She has had all her kitten vaccines and had been spayed. She got her name Molly first and since she MEWS that is how she got the name Mew. She was around 6-7 weeks old when we found her.

Molly Mew is estimated to be 7 months old now. She stays slim by playing with the dogs. They chase each other, wrestles nightly, play hide and seek, she climbs as fast as she can up the kitty tower, and runs and jumps everywhere. She is highly active, apparently more than the average kitten according to friends who have cats of their own. She eats Purina Kitten Chow; she has turned her up nose up at all of the other brands. She has a ½ a can of food in the morning and the other half in the evening. She is healthy, happy and loves to talk to you. She is a very vocal kitten who tells you what she wants.

She is Carma Poodale’s best friend.

  1. Beautiful story!
I know what it is like to have to convince the hubby of another animal in the house. I think I did alright though, with 3 kitties and 3 huskies! haha!

  2. What a great post! Molly Mew is just too precious 🙂

  3. She is a cutie! All our cats are shelter cats. Mom has always had shelter cats/kittens. She used to be a cat person, had 4 cats, but then she turned into a dog person and had 3 cats and 2 dogs, now we are 3 dogs and 2 cats. We all have lots of fun together.
